Trick or Treat!!

For this Halloween I asked Dawson what he wanted to be!! First he said "Ho Ho", meaning Santa Claus.. David said that was the silliest thing that he had ever heard of. Being Santa for Halloween.. So a few days later I asked him again.... He said he wanted to be a "Tharmer"!! So here is "Farmer Dawson"!
These are really bad pictures, taken with my video camera.... Every one was either too dark or too light!!
I hope everyone is having a great beginning to the week.. We had a great weekend, just very busy.. Enjoy the pictures!!

Dawson's Jack-O-Painting

He wanted to help David sooo bad! Of course they decided to do this on Sunday night, in the middle of Desperate Housewives.... The next thing I know Dawson brings me a carving knife...
So I came up with this contraption... And I want you to know that there was only one spot of paint to wipe up off the floor... Worked like a charm. The newspaper caught all of the mess.. Easily occupied..He loved this!

David's Jack-O-Lantern

Here are the pictures of the pumpkin David carved all by himself! He's pretty good huh? He carved it on Sunday night and I took this picture today, so it's face is kinda sinkin in! But you get the point! I was planning on carving some too. But DHW was on & I lost the picture of the one I wanted to make... If I find it, we may have a jack o lantern at Christmas.... It's really neat! Can you tell what this is????

It's WHAT time?

Don't you hate it when you are awakened from a very deep sleep with the sudden urge to pee? You get up. It's dark. The bathroom is only 15 steps away. You start to the bathroom trying not to wake anyone else. Trying even harder not to fully wake yourself. When all of the sudden, you are met with a 12 wheeled die cast John Deere tractor on your little toe... Ouch!
As if that's not enough. The dogs start barking. Your so thirsty. It's too cold to sleep with no heat. It's too hot to sleep with cover. You know there's no time for a nap tomorrow. You toss and turn, again and again. Finally you get up and do what? Smoke and post, really quick. Try it all again, without and minor interruptions this time.. Maybe!
I can't wait for a house, with a toy room!

The Pumpkin Patch

I took Dawson and Punky to the pumpkin patch in Wilmot on Saturday. They had the best time! They got to go on a hayride, then walk through a small corn maze, and on to the pumpkin patch to pick their very own pumpkin!
Dawson got out of the car asking the farm owner if he liked John Deere. Then of course he had to hold his own John Deere for the picture.

Dawson was so tired from playing in the hay. Here he is waiting for the man to come and cut his pumpkin that he had picked out. He had to sit and rest a while after the corn maze. That's alot of walking for a little boy!!

We had such a fun time at the pumpkin patch.. But that was only the beginning of our day. We left Wilmot headed for Monroe for a birthday party. I tried to drive really slow thinking that D would take a little power nap before we got to the party.. But oh no, nosey rosey, he stayed awake the whole way. There are alot of trains between Wilmot and Monroe!!
He played hard again at the party with all of the other kids. They had a ball pit and trampoline and all kinds of things. Needless to say when we left there, he was pooped!! I thought that he may be hungry because of course he was too busy to eat at the pumpkin patch. So I whipped into Johnny's and ordered us a pizza. Before it was ready, he was sound asleep.
My friend Jeanne was going to take her kids to the lawnmower races in town. So I told Dawson that we would go.. But papaw Randy called and got a new Kubota mule type thing.. Dawson calls it a John Deere Gator naturally.. So I gave him the choice of the races or papaw's and he picked papaw's!!
He had such a fun time. But he was so tired. I have better pictures that I'll have to post later this week. You know me, I'm so scatter brained. I took some film from the pumpkin patch to the one hour photo lab in Monroe before the party. And ran right off and left them. I did talk to a nice man who is going to mail them later this week... Thank you, thank you, mister!! ;)
My baby is worn out! As you can imagine! We left home at 8:30 and finally got home about 9:00!! What a day.. It's so worth it just to see that look of excitement on his face!! He is still recuperating today. He usually doesn't go to sleep in my arms. But today he did. That doesn't happen very often anymore. He thinks he too big, and just wants to go and get in his bed. So today I had to just hold him a while and watch him sleep. He's growing so fast, and I know he'll never be this little again!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
Did you know that there is only 10 weeks until Christmas..... Wow! Better start shopping!!

You know the seasons are screwed up when...

It's October... Your two year old is outside playing, meanwhile sweating bullets... Wearing only underwear... As if that's not enough... He decides that the best way to cool off is to turn on the water hose and wash off his Hummer!!
I hope you are having a wonderful week! We have been busy.... Can you tell???

Homecoming 2005

We had a blast meeting up with old friends! It's so good to see them and you always hate to leave.
Looks like fall has left for awhile and summer is back for the week! ugh, I'M READY TO WEAR MY WINTER CLOTHES!! Not like I can wear them comfortable, since I've gained a significant amount of weight since this time last year. But that is beside the point! I love fall and winter. We were at the game and It was almost hot, even at night.. Yuck, just sticky!
Dawson had a blast flirting with all of the girls! They all looked so pretty! SSH One of our favorite cousin's Tiffany is the Lion... Before we left for the game Tiff came over and told Dawson that she was gonna dress up like the lion and come and give him a hug.. He said "okay".
So, we started to the track and we weren't even close to her and he started screaming... "I don't like that lion, he scares me". If it hadn't been Tiff, I probably would've turned around.. But oh no, you are not gonna be a sissy!! Well, the pictures tell all.. She lifted her mask, and said look it's just Tiff! He said "okay". Then she put the mask back on and he would start in screaming again!! It was funny!!!
After he saw the pictures, he said, "that lion is my friend". We had fun. Tristan went with us, her early birthday treat.. I'm kind of posting in reverse order!! Oh well, there aren't too many people reading this, and the ones that do read... You know that my brain is scattered 99% of the time... So just look at the pictures!! Love you all! Have a great week!! Keep the air conditioner running, it's hot!!!

Happy Birthday Punky!!!

This just does not seem real.. My baby sister is ten years old! I can still remember just like yesterday when she was born. She is turning into a beautiful young lady right before my eyes. She is so smart. Tristan has made straight A's since she's been in school. This year she was nominated for "Gifted and Talented".
Tristan had her birthday party at the skating rink and everyone had a blast! Especially Dawson... We took his "special skates" that will not roll back... But it was still a hard job holding him up to skate!! (FYI: 50 pounds of dead weight will kill your back!) It was still fun all the while!
Hope you enjoy the pictures. Have a wonderful week!

Mommy's Roses (with a pumpkin to add a little color)

How about this... As you probably know, Dawson and I stay outside quite a bit! Well, this is my accumulation of gumballs and acorns this week.. He always finds them and picks them up. When he brings them to me, he says, "momma, look what I found for you". I always make a big deal about them, and tell him how cool they are. So then he tells me "momma, go put them in your kitchen window with your other flowers!" Now what do you say to that.... Nothing, but , "thank you baby, I love them". And then go and find a spot in the kitchen window for the gumballs and acorns. But you know, I don't think I could be any happier with a hand full of roses! He is so sweet. But don't even think about throwing them away when they fall apart in the window. Because when he gets up there to wash his hands or 'help' me cook. He wants to know if I still like them. If they are gone, which I try to keep a handful at least, for his feelings sake. He asks where they are. I sometimes wonder what I did before I had him.
I had a really nice day yesterday! My mom kept Dawson all day. I finally had to go and get him about 8:30 last night. He didn't want to go, but it was time for him to go to bed. And I knew that he would want to be at home in his own bed. But it sure was nice to have a break.. Thanks mom, I really do appreciate it!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Love to all!

Thought for the day

I have this neat little flip over calendar in my kitchen window. Each day you flip the page and it has a new message. This is today's:

Right is right even if nobody does it...
Wrong is wrong even if everybody does it...

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week.. The weather is beautiful here.. Way too nice to stay inside!!:)

No more cups or watering cans in the bath tub!!!

Why you ask? I put my son in the tub and went about my cleaning up supper. (with the monitor on my hip). Every few minutes, I would sneak back and check on him.. He was doing fine! Once he caught a glimpse of me and said "mom do I have to wash my hair"? "Yes", I replied and hurried back to the kitchen.. The next time I sneaked a peek, he had shampoo in his dry hair, just a scrubbing. I thought aww how sweet, he's trying to help!
Well, the next trip wouldn't be quite as easy.. When I got to the door, he was looking at me with that deer in the headlights look. That's when I stepped in about an inch of water. Oh, and when I say an inch of water, I mean an inch of water over about four feet of the floor... I was furious!
But I grabbed my composure! Quickly! I took a towel and laid it out on the floor, which it immediately soaked up with water and bubbles.. Did I mention bubbles? Oh, yes, lots of bubbles!!! After soaking up six towels with water dripping from all six I threw them in the sink (as shown in picture) I called David and told him to go to the shop and get the "shop vac".
Meanwhile, Daddy's coming home with the shop vac, Mommy is scolding Dawson. I made him sit in the ugly chair, no juice, only water, and no John Deere video before bed.. He had to watch us clean up the mess, crying all the while. Then he went directly to bed after a final "my wub ja momma"! "I love you too, D" Now how can you be mad at that?
I asked him how he got all of that water onto the floor.. He answered "my just used that cup and that water hose". His 'water hose' is the watering can.. I could have choked him.. (While laughing behind closed doors.. )
When the floor was dry, the shop vac had about 3 inches of water in the bottom. The experience also gave David and I something funny to talk about before bed.
I hope everyone is having an awesome week!! We are!! Love to all!

Bittersweet

Dawson's first day swinging alone, without holding on to my finger and pulling me to the swing set!
Posted by Picasa
This is kind of bittersweet... My baby is growing up!!! He is becoming very independent, and it's starting to be hard for me to deal with!! In a way. But, in another way, I can watch him out the window and still get other things done!
I couldn't believe it.. Usually he would stand under my feet until I finally give in and take him to the swing set to push him for a while.. But not today!!
Today I looked outside only to see him using his super coordination skills to swing himself!!! YAH D!! I'm so proud of him! He is a big boy! Yep, still in his PJ's just swinging away. Stopping only to catch a quick glimpse of the tractor across the road plowing the field.

I thought that I'd share this email. It will make you think about what you say to your loved ones. And how you want to make them feel and remember you.. I hope everyone has a great weekend!! Remember to LIVE & LOVE!
Recently I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport. They had announced the departure.Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said, "I love you and I wish you enough".The daughter replied, "Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom".They kissed and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I was seated. Standing there I could see she wanted! and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking,"Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?". Yes, I have," I replied. "Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?"."I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is - thenext trip back will be for my funeral," she said."When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, 'I wish you enough'. May I ask what that means?".She began to smile. "That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone".She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail and she smiled even more. "When we said , 'I wish you enough', we were wanting the other person to havea life filled with just enough good things to sustain them".Then turning toward me, she shared the following as if she were reciting it from memory.!
I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.
She then began to cry and walked away. They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them,a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them. TAKE TIME TO LIVE.....
To all my friends and loved ones, I WISH YOU ENOUGH!!

Men are so smart!! Yeah Right!!

I recieved this in my e-mail this morning and got a nice giggle!! So I thought I would share it with you all! Hope you enjoy!
A man walked into a supermarket with his zipper down. A lady cashier walked up to him and said, "Your barracks door is open." Not a phrase that men normally use, he went on his waylooking a bit puzzled.
When he was about done shopping, a man came up and said, "Your fly is open." He zipped up and finished his shopping.

At the checkout, he intentionally got in the line where the lady was that told him about his "barracks door."
He was planning to have a little fun with her, so when he reached the counter he said, "When you saw my barracks door open, did you see a Marine standing in there at attention?"
The lady (naturally smarter than the man) thought for a moment and said, "No, no I didn't. All I saw was a disabled veteran sitting on a couple of old duffel bags."

Rarely seen photograph of Dawson and Mommy!

This is rare, because I'm usually behind the camera. My momma took this on Mother's Day, we went to visit her.
Momma believes in taking lots of pictures of everything, just like me.. I guess that's where I get it.
Dawson was so sleepy, but we are together, so I had to post it!

Magic Springs' Plummit Summit

This is the only "big" ride that Dawson was tall enough to ride.. He had a blast. It really takes your breath away, and then the water comes on top of you..
Dawson and Patrick and I rode it twice in a row. Both times when the water hit us Dawson said "I'm sorry momma". He thought that he made it splash us... It was alot of fun!
